Français

I love the french language. I don't know it, but I want to. I hear the best way to learn a language is through music. I'm not sure how true that is....
Anyways, seeing how french is obviously foreign for me, I thought it would be appropriate to share two of my favorite songs. And an internet translation.

Comme des Enfants - Coeur de Pirate

"Like Children"
So you see, as everything gets mixed
And from the heart to your lips, I become your puzzle
Your laugh screams I should let you go
Before losing grip and giving up 'cause I will never ask so much of you
You already treat me like a big child
And we don't have anything to risk anymore
Apart from our lives we leave beside
And he still loves me, and I love you a bit more
But het still loves me, and I love you a bit more
It's enough for these splits
It's harder to do than other times
Because without laughing, it's easier to dreamabout what we will never be able to touch again
Et we hold hands, like children
Happiness on the lips, a bit naïvely
And we walk together, with determined steps
So that our heads scream we should stop everything
He still loves me and you, you love me a bit more
But he still loves me and I, I love you a bit more
And despite that, he still loves me and me, I love you a bit more
But he still loves me and me, I love you a bit more
Still, and I, I love you a bit more
But he still loves me and I love you a bit more
And despite that, he still loves me and I love you a bit more
But he still loves me and I love you a bit more
And despite that, he still loves me and I love you a bit more
But he still loves me and I love you a bit more
And despite that, he still loves me and I love you a bit more
But he still loves me and I love you a bit more

Quelqu'un M'a Dit - Carla Bruni

"Someone Told Me"
I've heard it said that life just comes and goes
It passes in an instant, like a wilting rose
I'm told that time makes light of our woes
Wears them like a gown, our sorrows to expose
Yet, someone told me that you still loved me
Yes, someone told me that you still loved me
Could this possible be true?
I've heard it said that destiny is cruel
Promises the world, then laughs in ridicule
Think its in your hands, you've got it made
But look again, you're wrong, you're just a fool
Yet, someone told me that you still loved me
Yes, someone told me that you still loved me
Could this possibly be true?
Who told me that you've loved me all along?
I wish I could remember, but the face is gone
I'm left with just the voice that whispers in my ear,
"He loves you, its a secret, please don't let him hear"
See? Someone told me that you still loved me
Yes, someone told me that you still loved me
Could this possible be true?
I've heard it said that life just comes and goes
It passes in an instant, like a welting rose
It makes light of our woes
Wears them like a gown, our sorrows to expose
And yet, someone told me that you still loved me
I swear they said that you still loved me
Could this possibly be true?

Xavier Rudd

School has been keeping me busier than I would prefer. One good thing about keeping busy though, time flies. I'm already a month into the semester. Its a pretty reasonable excuse as to why I haven't written anything in a while. But this post will be short because I have to wake up early tomorrow.

Xavier Rudd. A musician I'm not too familiar with, but who's musical talent and songwriting makes me smile. I thought it would be appropriate to write about a particular song of his on this sort-of-travel-blog since it has a lot to do with the planet. I'm very fond of this planet, and I'm in love with this song. Its called "Messages" and I'm copy/pasting the lyrics :) I've been wanting to share this song for a while.

So now come sit down will you talk with me now?
Let me see through your eyes where there is so much life
We are biding our time for these myths to unwind
These changes we will confront
So please beware with every place that you head
And look to your soul for these things that you know
For the trees that we see cannot forever breathe
With the changes they will confront
You know some people they just wont understand
They just wont understand these things
Thank you for your message but I don't understand
No, I just wont understand these things
And this sacred land it has seen many hands, it has
Wealth and gold yet it is fragile and old
And all the greedy souls just don't care to know
Of the changes it will confront
So speak out loud of the things you are proud
And if you love this coast then keep it clean as it evolves
Cause the way that it shines may just dwindle with time
With the changes it will confront
You know some people they just wont understand
They just wont understand these things
Thank you for your message but I don't understand
No, I just wont understand these things
You know some people they just wont understand
They just wont understand these things
Thank you for your message but I don't understand
No, I just wont understand these things
So hold nice and close the ones that get to your soul
So that when it is cold you wont feel so alone
Cause the roads that you take may just crack and break
With the changes you will confront
With each gift that you share you may heal and repair
With each choice you make you may help someone's day
Well I know you are strong may your journey be long
And now I wish you the best of luck
Well I know you are strong may your journey be long
And now I wish you the best of luck
You know some people they just wont understand
They just wont understand these things
Thank you for your message but I don't understand
No, I just wont understand these things
