California - September 2012

I finally made it to Cali! I have had this yearning to go all year! Sure it was a little inconvenient to go in the middle of the semester...I had to cram in a week's worth of homework, take a quiz early, and last minute request off from work, but...I had a good time :)

We went for my cousin's wedding in Malibu and of course we couldn't leave out going to Disneyland!

And guess what! I don't know if I mentioned this anywhere else before. My Diana Mini broke. But my brother bought me a new one for my birthday!!! So I took my Mini! Which is what all of these pictures are taken with. And all of them are from Disneyland and the wedding. We didn't do too much additional sight seeing. Enjoy!

Disneyland

 Main Street

 Frontier Land

 The Big Thunder Mountain

In front of Pirates of the Caribbean

All of us (minus me) at New Orleans Square (one of my favorite places in Disneyland!)

Haunted Mansion! Which was closed!!! They were to open the next day with the new Nightmare Before Christmas halloween decor.

One of my Favorites + Nightmare Before Christmas!

Splash Mountain. Our my whole family all went on! It was so much fun!

Sharon was scared to go on Splash Mountain and she didn't want to get wet. Sarah promised her cotton candy if she did.

It kind of turned into a tradition to get turkey legs when we go to Disneyland. They're so yummy! But I definitely advise sharing one.

Meeting up with the Aunties, Uncles and Cousins! My cousin Karen's son, Jonathan. What a cutie!

 Matterhorn & Tomorrowland

Adventure Land is pretty fun too

Jungle River with the fam

No idea why I took a picture of this guy.

Rhino chasing some dudes up a tree. I thought this was hilarious!

 Fantasyland

It blows my mind how amazing all of these themes are.

 Dumbo & the Matterhorn

 Teacups, what a classic.

We frequented Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain a couple times that day...The good things about going to Disney off season is zero lines, the bad thing, no fireworks on weekdays.

Hannah, Sharon, Jonathan, Sarah and Isaac

We were one day short of halloween theme, but they had most of the decorations up.

I'm a little embarrassed. It is very obvious that I had a freaking good time at Disneyland. Well, doesn't everyone that goes act like a kid again?

Malibu

This was my first time in Malibu (thats not actually me, thats Sarah. I'm the one taking the picture) Pretty cool, pretty cool. But I still have yet to find a beach that competes with Hawaii's (although I have yet to go to the Caribbean or Tahiti).

The view

Such a beautiful wedding.

Thank you Eric for this beautiful dress!!!

Yes, there are a lot of pictures of the sunset here. Yes, I have more pictures of this sunset that I haven't posted. Yes, I love sunsets.

Aww so romantic :)

Aren't weddings all about getting a little crazy???

Well thats all. I might do another post about this trip, Sarah has some really fun photos on her phone that I wanna share.

A little letter from myself:
I really really wanted to post something about my Big Island trip from last month, but I don't have any pictures to share from it :( Oh well, I'm thinking about going Big Island again maybe for New Year's Eve.
On a completely different subject, I have been doing some contemplating. Now I haven't been doing too much traveling while in school. Reason one is that I'm really busy, reason two is that I'm really broke. So I have been contemplating all year about deleting this blog because (like every other college student) I'm lazy and I procrastinate. I feel like I should have some more diligence to write! But as you may have noticed, My posts are becoming more and more about what I'm doing here in Hawaii and where I'm WANTING to go. Which reminds me...I haven't even finished blogging about my other trips. Ugh, still gotta do Venice, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Sorrento, Rome, Chicago, NYC, and Boston. BUT, I will not be deleting this blog! I will keep bugging myself to keep it up! Why? Because I enjoy it actually. I'm sorry, I have ADD. And I get especially ADD about my other hobbies too! Like surfing and reading and painting and piano! And my latest hobby, cooking. I cannot keep to one thing. You know what I just thought of yesterday? Starting a cooking blog! HAHA based upon my inclination towards laziness, I can only imagine what a failure that one will be!
Onto another subject now, I think one reason why I get fed up with blogging (and facebook and instagram and multiple forms of social media) is that it seems to be a popularity contest. People aren't looking for friends, they're looking for fans. If I wanted fans I would have a twitter and a more active instagram and a youtube page. My life isn't worth people following. I have to keep reminding myself that this blog is for me, not you. I like to write, I sort of like to take pictures, and I like inspiring myself to travel and do more. It encourages me to finish flight school. Pinterest is a site that I like because it is 100% for my own inspiration. I want this blog to be for me like Pinterest. If it inspires or entertains you at the same time, I'm glad. Everyone needs inspiration, but because I'm a self-centered student, I need it more than you. And I need to keep doing things that make me happy. Everyone does.
Sincerely, A.
